Mainland Young Milk Producers’ Evening with the Milk Board – October 17, 2018

Mainland Young Milk Producers’ Evening with the Milk Board was a great success. Young dairy farmers packed the room to hear about the Milk Board and to ask some tough questions on the New Entrant Program (NEP), the recent USMCA, and the future of dairy farming.

The event was held on October 17, 2018 at the Quality Hotel in Abbotsford. This year there was a panel from the Milk Board consisting of the Chair Ben Janzen; directors Tom Hoogendoorn, Gerd Andres, and Cornelis Hertgers; and the General Manager Rob Delage. Ben took the lead in giving the presentation and the entire panel took turns answering questions. It was a great opportunity for young dairy producers to ask any and all questions about milk pricing, the new entrant program, and the impacts of the USMCA on dairy farmers.

MYMP would like to thank the two event sponsors – TD and MNP. MYMP would not be able to hold events like this without the generous support of sponsors.

MYMP would also like to thank Ben, Tom, Cornelis, Gerd, and Rob for attending the event. Thanks to all the young dairy producers that attended and made the evening a great success.

MYMP hopes to see everyone at their Winter Gala and AGM on December 11 at the Quality Hotel.
