Write to your MP
mymp.ca/classroom1Find your MP
Go to mymp.ca/find-my-mp and enter your home postal code.
2Get to know them
Open your MP's page. Find one recent vote, speech or bill.
3Pick your issue
Which government is responsible for it? ☐ Federal (your MP) ☐ Provincial or territorial (your MLA) ☐ Local (your council)
If it isn't federal, write to the right person instead: MyMP often lists your MLA and council under your MP.
4Plan your letter
Start with “Dear [MP's name],” and say where you live and what grade you're in. End with your name and an address for the reply (your school's is fine).
5Send it
By mail, no stamp needed: [Your MP's name], House of Commons, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0A6.
By email: under your MP on MyMP, “Write to” gives you a starter letter on your topic. Put your own reasons in, then send it from your own (or a family) email account.
MP offices can take a few weeks to reply. Bring the reply to class.
