Under the banner of the Canadians for CANDU campaign, which is a broad coalition including labour, medical, first nations and supply chain organizations, AtkinsRéalis wants the government of Canada to support the Canadian-owned CANDU nuclear technology as the reactor for the next generation of new reactors to be built in Ontario, across Canada and internationally. This support can be in the form of loans to support the development of the updated reactor, financial support to provinces and utilities that choose CANDU, and export credit support for CANDU reactors exported to foreign countries.
