What they're asking for

  1. Support for the creation of a Live Performing Arts Tax Credit. Similar to the success of the Canadian Film and Television Production Tax Credit, a coalition of engagers and unions from the creative industries are asking the government to invest in a job accelerator program for the performing arts. Similar initiatives are in place in competitor markets, and in order to be competitive, our industry requires access to comparable tools. The result would be a catalyst for job creation and promote Canadian cultural sovereignty. PACT would not benefit directly from funding through such a program, but advocates on behalf of its theatre members as a whole.
