Mr. Speaker, Shane Ertmoed killed 10-year-old Heather Thomas about 26 years ago. Her family continues to serve a psychological life sentence, while Mr. Ertmoed himself gets a 60-day temporary, unescorted absence in order to take cooking classes, cooking classes that Heather will not get to take. I am going to look right at the Prime Minister and ask this: Will he commit to repealing, to removing, Liberal parole so this cannot happen again, yes or no?

Mr. Speaker, my question was for the Prime Minister, yet the public safety minister answered. This is all talk and no results. I am meeting with Heather's mom and her counsel on Thursday. If the Prime Minister believes in what the public safety minister just said, will he meet with Heather's mom and her counsel this Thursday and say what the minister just said? Does the Prime Minister have the guts to stand up and say it, yes or no?

Mr. Speaker, it is always a pleasure to rise on behalf of the people from Kamloops—Thompson—Nicola. I have a petition on a matter that I am rising on for the second time. It is for federal funding to rebuild and fast-track the rebuilding of the Red Bridge. This is a cultural monument. It has been in Kamloops for over 100 years. It is time for federal money to go to that, according to the petitioners.

Mr. Speaker, it is always a pleasure to rise on behalf of the people of Kamloops—Thompson—Nicola, and before I begin, I want to recognize someone from my riding who is getting married. Jodhbir Kang, who served as a school trustee in Kamloops—Thompson—Nicola, is marrying Poonam Deol. I want to take this opportunity to wish them the best of luck in their upcoming nuptials, and a long, fruitful life together. I listened to my colleague's speech, in which he talked a lot about environmental issues, pipelines and things like that. I always wonder where the Bloc sees fossil fuels fitting into Canada. I have to fly here all the time. I drive an electric car. Where does he see that fitting in?

Mr. Speaker, Liberal parole is out of control. The family of Constable Todd Baylis and the Toronto Police Association recently asked for parole reform. The victim's family has to go to parole hearings every two years. A Conservative bill would have changed that to every five years, and yet the Liberals voted against it. Will the Liberals listen to the family of Constable Baylis and the Toronto Police Association and do right, when they have previously done wrong?
