What they're asking for
In the registry's own words. Descriptions are only filed for meetings since mid-2024.
United Fisheries Conservation Alliance continues to advocate on behalf of commercial fishermen and those that rely on a sustainable fishery and intend to bring our concerns forward to representatives of the Government of Canada. Clear rules, regulations, compliance, and enforcement are needed. We recognize and acknowledge the importance of cooperation with Indigenous communities, and that Indigenous fishermen have a right to fish for commercial, food, social, and ceremonial purposes. We expect the Fisheries Act will be applied to any pursuit of a Moderate Livelihood fishery.
