How this is counted
- Consultant lobbyists only. A consultant's communication report names the person who met the MP. An in-house report names the organization's responsible officer, usually the CEO, not the person in the room, so ranking people from in-house reports would credit the wrong person. Organizations are ranked on the organizations page.
- One report, one meeting. A report that lists several officials counts once if any of them is a Member of Parliament or Parliamentary Secretary. Meetings with ministers, their staff, or public servants are not counted here.
- Firms are grouped across the spellings they file under (with and without “Inc.”), and shown under their most-used name. A lobbyist is counted toward the firm on their most recent registration.
- Lag. Registrants have until the 15th of the following month to report a meeting, so the most recent weeks are always undercounted.
